Samsung UN46ES7500F Connecting/Internet

Been trying to connect my set to my Verizon Fios router (b/g) to no avail. Called Samsung and like the rest of you, still no connection. Tried the reset,repower, unplug...etc. stll ng. When I try to connect and check the IP settings in Auto all I get back is a mac address, no IP, gateway, DNS..nothing. when I input my own settings still nothing. The Samsung dvd player right next to the set connected right away! I don't think its the router...ipods,laptops and dvd player all connect. And because the tv is downstairs, the ethernet cable doesn't reach. Firmware has been updated via USB. Any help would be appreciated.

Samsung Firmware

Already have the latest firmware. installed it using usb flash drive...thanks. I've been loking at post for the verizon router; Actiontec... like i said before, the dvd player connected flawlessly but the tv doesn't. I'm not a 100% computer/router savy so I'm just guessing its a tv problem. Any more help? Waiting for Samsung's call.

If you follow the CNET Networking advice you see the advice is to move to WPA2 AES personal security along with warnings about non-alphanumerics in SSID and passwords. We also warn about hiding the SSID.

Yes, all that should work but if you feel that should work....

i've done all that. I borrowed a Linksys wireless game adapter and hooked it up to the ethernet connection...tv connected to the network and was able to start Smarthub. So then...is it the wireless adapter in the tv, its settings, or the wireless router settings? Should I switch to WPA instead of WEP?

Hi ConEdman,

It's definitely worth a try. Even if it doesn't 'fix' the problem, I strongly suggest switching away from WEP, as it's rather insecure.
