I have a model UN60ES6100FXZA SmartTV with Allshare Play and I downloaded Allshare on my laptop but I can't seem to get it to work. I downloaded Allshare on a friend's laptop and it worked just fine; I was able to see the pc's folders and their contents. I have the latest firmware version installed on the tv.

On my pc Allshare doesn't show any device detected/connected. My machine's specs are: 1.60 GHz, 2GB Ram, 32 bit and Vista Home. The other pc's specs are: 2.0 GHz, 3GB Ram, 32 bit and Win 7 Professional.

I have tried a number of different things, i.e. disabling firewall, etc without success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mounkenscoff,

This behavior--one PC connects just fine while another compatible PC doesn't--would suggest you have some kind of software on your PC preventing it from connecting. This could be a firewall or an antivirus program or something else like that. So I suggest you temporarily turn them off, if you do have them running.

Thanks for the quick response. I had already tried to turn off the antivirus program as well as Windows Defender and there was no improvement. Any other program that you can think of that would cause this?

I had read this post and tried some of the "solutions" but to no avail.

When I look at the Network window I see that the pc is part of a workgroup but the other devices are not. Could that be an issue? I also see that the Discovery method for the pc is WSD while it is SSDP for the other devices. Does that affect anything? Let me know what you think.

This is for Win 7 and I'm running Vista. Based on what I read I don't think the "workgroup" issue is the problem. I saw that there is/was a Samsung PCshare program and maybe that would work but I can't seem to find a site where it can be downloaded from.
I'll keep playing around with it but I don't have too much hope!!!

I downloaded Serviio and it works flawlessly! It only took me about 2 minutes to get started so I will use this until I can figure out how to get Allshare to work. In the meantime if you have any suggestions let me know.
