samsung 50 inch hdtv - model PN50B540S3FXZC

The touch screen mode on the tv panel where one can turn tv on or off, volume control, etc , is not working. It is completely off. How do I turn it back on?

Also, there used to be a green line at the bottom of the tv screen. Now it appears to be a red dash line on the left of the screen and the remainder is still solid green. What is happening? How do I fix it?

The tv is less than 2 years old.

I thought I'd check the manual but this can't be found. I'm not good at the product numbers so if you could supply a link to the product page, I'll read about the model.

For now you may have to turn it on and off with the remote.
