Apple Accessories, now at Staples
I have a keyboard for my apple iPad etc and although this is recognised and pairs with the tv when text is required the tv does not bring it up. The tv is quite useless without a keyboard and I can't believe it's sold just with a remote which for text is hopeless, Am I expected to buy a new keypad for my tv ps3 and apple products??

But yes. HDTVs are not PCs or Apples and folk are getting a little upset about the new features. That is, they expected that web browser to equal what we see on our Apple or PC. It's not even close (and yes this does upset the maker when I write that.)
Apple's Bluetooth connections are PROTECTED with an "Apple Authentication co-processor".
Sorry but if you need to know more about that I can write more but for now you can't use this.

Hi quentint,
Let me just jump in here and say that the D series is from 2011, and the only keyboard that works with some of the TVs is the Samsung QWERTY remote (RMC-QTD1AP2, here in the US). Hope that helps explain it!

Thanks for the replies If I am correct the D series ES 7000 is a 2012 model in the UK the Samsung keyboard that is compatible costs the equivalent of 156 dollars , I think we pay considerably more in the UK that's $2800 for TV and keypad. I a pragmatist thought the computer bit worked with the telly bit and can only think that using a generic keypad is merely an update in the computer bit of the telly to recognise it
I have a ps3 and an apple TV both of which work like magic my next thought is there is absolutely no point in using the online part of the Samsung there is nothing that the other two ie Sony and Apple can't reliably supply
