Samsung LED tv - everything looks like PBS

I just purchased a 46" Samsung LED TV 6150, and have noticed that all of the television shows that we're watching have this "PBS" feel to them. I feel like I'm much more aware that they're being shot in studios, as if everything is just a bit more artificial. It's very hard to describe, but has anyone else noticed this effect?

I could be convinced that this is just an effect of the HD, but I had a different 46" tv before this one, and I didn't notice this.

Might be that Soap Opera Effect.

If so, look around for any motion smoothing setting to turn off.

Thanks, I was wondering about this, since the tv advertizes as 240hz. I did notice that, when I watch Netflix, I don't see this effect, so I'm currently looking into my RCN cable box, to see if that could be the cause.

Once an app launches, it does not have to honor these settings. So that's why we have to dive in and adjust them.

Hope that other link helps you understand about "once the app launches" it's not a Samsung issue. And it turns out most of the Apps are not written by them. So we're back to that same issue where the maker of the product is not able to correct a bug when you find it.

Think of a company that makes laptops. If you run Windows and some application has a fault, the laptop maker can't help you. I wonder if folk are getting the message about these Smart TVs yet.
