stop samsung smart tv switching 720 /1080

new smart tv new dvr when changing channels and channel is different 720/1080 it goes black and pauses then good .if new channel is same as old channel no problem but if going from a 1080 to a 720 channel or vice versa then split second its ok then blank and then ok. happens everytime I change channel. does tv have a way to fix this.Happens on all cable dvr's we keep getting.

I have narrowed it down but still don't know.

when watching recorded history channel or another channel that the resolution is 1280/720/60 and you fast forward or rewind screen goes blank but recording still goes on.It seem that every time a commercial comes on and it is in 1920/1080/60 or 720/480/60 and as long as you are still forwarding or rewinding when the commercial comes on that is when screen goes blank until you mash play or commercial is way over. Just no way to tell when, so then you rewind or fast forward to get your show back, it starts all over again.Tv is almost new 59 inch samsung HD/3D smart tv and dvr is pace 788x. I just wish I knew some direction to go in,it will really suck to ask the cable company to see if they know of the problem after complaining all this time and receiving different dvr's.To think all this time it may not have been their fault. I supposed that is the right thing to do but still I would rather try to fix it before I approach them.The kid next door is good with electronics but he is mad at me so kinda up against it. Thanks

You try a connection other than HDMI. Just an idea I used and it can help at times.
