I have an LE40B650 LCD that's about 3 years old and recently it has begun randomly switching itself off the restarting itself again a few seconds later. About 2 years ago it had a new mainboard as the HDMIs malfunctioned.
I purchased an extended warranty on the set when it was new so have 5 years warranty, thus about 2 left.
After doing some research am I right to assume that this is most likely caused by faulty capacitors on the power board.
I was reading that many people have fixed the issue by replacing the capacitors and making sure they fit quality ones from rubycon or panasonic (replacing samwha or sam young makes).
My question is are the service techs most likely to just replace the power board and/or main board as a whole as opposed to replacing the caps?
And if so how can I be sure that any new board will not have the same issue again and be fitted with these substandard capacitors from these manufacturers?
