My Samsung DLP is showing green lines. What's the cause?

My Samsung DLP is about 6 years old. The TV has just started showing green horizontal lines throughout the picture. They fluctuate a lot, sometimes better sometimes worse. Sometimes there are also purple lines. It started out as bright green outlines around parts of the image. Now it seems worse, and is horizontal lines. It shows on all inputs including HDMI, DVI, and even the analog AV inputs. It also shows over any menu screens on the TV. Sometimes it's worse in HD that regular def. What could be the cause?

While I can't tell you precisely what is causing the problem without having hands on the product or even at least a model code, we can arrange for an Authorized Service Center to contact you and take a look at your TV. It is a Samsung DLP Model Code HLP5063WX/XAA. If there is any general direction you could provide on possible causes, or things I could check, that would be great. I would like to troubleshoot a bit before I start having to spend money on it. Otherwise, are there any other online resources available for this?
