You should also try the steps recently suggested for rugger1313 in order to fix your Smart Hub connection issues. If the issue persists beyond both the modem/router power cycling and Smart Hub reset, we suggest you consider a factory reset of your device.

Can't reset to factory setting? Is Hubsite down?

I have tried power cycling my modem and wireless router. But still getting the error. When I try to login, I see a message 'Please wait for a moment.' and after a while I get the network setting error error_model_bind.

I am not able to reset my TV to factory setting as pressing and holding the Exit button does not work.

My TV is UN46ES6500. I did notice that when I do a >>2891 on the Hub page, I see Network Test = True but Hubsite Test = false?

Is it something to do with the Hubsite?

The server will be down for scheduled maintenance to improve functionality in preperation for the 2012 Olympic Games. During this time the Smart Hub / Internet@TV feature will be un-accessible. Users will receive a notification before maintenance begins, but while the server is down they may not receive the message, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Maintenance Time (7/19)
Eastern (EST) 12 AM - 6 AM
Central (CST) 11 PM - 5 AM
Mountain (MST) 10 PM - 4 AM
Pacific (PST) 9 PM - 3 AM"

Smart Hub troubles

I have conferred with the in-house home theater specialist and she recommends that you try power cycling your modem and router as this message is indicative of a network connection issue, specifically that a server connection is compromised. You can refer to the following article on how to do this.

If the issue persists, she recommended a Smart Hub reset. Performing a reset to Smart Hub will return Smart Hub back to original state. By returning Smart Hub to default state you will remove all downloaded app and reload the original apps that were came on the TV. After the reset, Smart Hub will need to reconnect with Samsung's server this will also force all updates to be done to Smart Hub. To perform a reset follow these steps:

1. Press the Smart Hub button on the remote to open the Smart Hub.
2. Press the Tools button on the remote to open the Settings menu.
3. Press the up or down arrows to select Reset.
4. You may be prompted for a password, but if you never set this, the default code is 0000.
5. The reset of the Smart Hub will then complete.

Please provide any necessary feedback if the issue persists beyond these troubleshooting steps.

Also, if you were not already aware, a firmware update for this device was released on 05/11/2012. Please refer to page 36 of your product manual for the instructions on how to update your home theater system's firmware via USB, CD or Online.

First, thanks for your fast answer.
On the other hand, I did the two thing that you told me(power cycle my network and reset the HDTV) according to your answer, I also try to update the TV by Online and I got " there are any update at the moment", for it, Could you help me with that problem?

I am a bit confused. Could you better clarify the message you got when you attempted to check for a TV firmware update via the Online method? I just looked on the product support page for your model and it seems a firmware update was just issued today (05/24/2012). If you need some guidance on how to update the firmware via the TV's internal menus (Online), please refer to this troubleshooting article.

Answering to your question about firmware update, I did the following on the TV:
1-Menu
2- Support
3-Software Update
4-Online
5- I got the following message "There are no new updates for you at the moment
Current Version 001008
Please let me know if it is the last firmware version on 05/24/2012

U40ES5500W with error_model_bind

Hi,

My new U40ES5500W (bought it 15 days ago) shows error_model_bind when trying to use Web Browser or any other app accessing Internet. On the other hand All Share app accesses properly contents from other devices on my net. It was working without problemas until yesterday.

I have tried all the options mentioned in this thread without success

- Power cycling modem/router
- Software upgrade (version 1012 was installed, currently 1017.1 after downloading and installing from Samsung download center)
- Factory reset

Software 1017.1 version on 23/05 not fixing the problem, I couldn't find 1018 version that worked for cantana49. I am a Spanish user.

Any other option???

Seems you still have 363 days of warranty left. That should be enough if it's a hardware or software issue.
If it's just a setting, the shop or Samsung customer service might be able to help.

Finally version 1017.1 seemed to fix the problem, not just after upgrading and turning on and off my TV but after several hours with TV turned off and coming back home and turning it on again. Not very logical so I'm not confident this is a permanent solution.

I have the Samsung UE40EH6030 plus a Samsung Blu-ray player with built in wifi, both are less than a month old. I am also reciving the message (Error_Model_Bind) It also has a tinny background noise when its sound rises automatically.
I followed the above directions and all it did for me was loose me my apps. With no internet connection I cannot get them back.

I have the same problem with my Smart hub on Smart Tv model UE40ES6710 firmware updated to 001028. Done all the steps as advised rugger1313 and still cannot do anything with smart hub. Please heeeelllpp!!!
