Samsung forum: screen flickers is USB is NOT plugged in. LN46b630

so i've opened a service request under 4114811886. With the registering of the product, i got an additional 3 month warranty, but i'm getting conflicting information about if the service will be covered. How do i ensure Samsung does the repair for free? Thank you. i'm uploading a video of the problem and will post the link here shortly.

Will Samsung honor the additional 3 month warranty after registering the product. I really love Samsung, having other products as well, but this set should work more than a couple of years.

I have seen other multiple threads, including where people have had success on a similar model, the LN46C630, (rather than the B630), by cutting a simple jumper (JP852) on the board which instantly solves the problem, a known bulletin that Samsung sent out to reps, however, i checked, and my board looks different from the C630 so i decided not to hold off and wait to hear from Samsung first.

Any other recommendations to escalate with Samsung would be appreciated.

Well, Samsung wouldn't do the fix, and the authorized service center offered to fix for $175. I figured that was a cheap price, and thus most of it would probably be going to his labor cost.... Hence, i figured the part he was going to replace would be relatively cheap... I opened the set, and saw 3 capicators on the power board that looked faulty... They hadn't burst, but they were bulging at the top....

Armed with less than $10 of new capicators, and a soldering iron, i did the fix myself.
Everythings perfect now... In fact, i'm glad Samsung turned me down, because it allowed me to research and learn a new skill.
