The constant Smarthub problems have not improved
Well, the Samsung Ambassadors in this forum sure have been upbeat - unfortunately, back at Samsung, no improvements have been made whatsoever. Smarthub continues to plague nearly every Samsung Bluray player around. I love my player but 90% of the time I go to use Hulu or Netflix I have to fight, sometimes for hours, with this infuriating Smarthub download, Smarthub installing, Smarthub failing nonsense. (I know this is not news to anyone.)
I'm happy that on 5/21 the Samsung Brand Ambassador at least acknowledged that there IS an issue (I guess the 10s of thousands of people who bought devices with this joke of a Smarthub in them and who have been scouring the Internet for answers weren't just imagining the whole thing...) but we were promised some sort of resolution months ago and nothing is being done.
I'm not a lawyer but I would think that selling thousands of people a product that depends on a service you provide but then fail to continue providing constitutes fraud of some sort.
Is it going to take the thousands of furious Smarthub vicitims banding together into a class action lawsuit to get Samsung to take us seriously?
I know this rant sounds like I hate Samsung, but I assure you, I don't. I have a Samsung tv that I absolutely love. I've had it for years (thankfully it's old enough to have NOTHING TO DO with the Internet -- no chance to have Smarthub ruin it) and I rave about it. I've had plenty of other Samsung products that I love. I even love my current Samsung Bluray player. The picture is gorgeous, and when Smarthub cooperates, it's awesome for connecting to Pandora, Huluplus, and Netflix. The problem is that some genius at Samsung thought it would be great to have these updates for Smarthub CONSTANTLY that fail to download or fail to install or fail in some other fashion that makes Smarthub fail, thus rendering my Bluray player fairly useless.
I've been searching the forums again tonight for help and at least I can take solace in the fact that I'm not alone -- there are plenty of Smarthub victims our there to commiserate with.
By the way, Samsung, if you're listening, I've already gone through all the normal help desk channels -- I'm not one to rant like this in forums. You've not responded to multiple emails I've sent for support.
Kill Smarthub and maybe I'll consider ever buying another Samsung product in my life.
Thank you.
