Samsung forum: Samsung DLP no picture

Thanks for your help. Both green indicators and all red are on when it goes off. I have an extra new lamp and put that in last night. The tv came on and worked fine for about 2 hours. Turned it on this morning and it worked for about 5 minutes and tv powered back off again with same indicator lights. Let is sit and turned back on and tv started working again. The lamp I took out is only 4 months old and the picture was bright. When working the picture is excellent. I don't want to burn up my new lamp. Does this sound like the ballast is going or is bad? Seems like some sort of power issue?

FYI - I just looked up my info and I purchased my Samsung 67" DLP from Sams Club on 11/9/2006 for $3199.76. At the time I also purchased the Sams Club 3 year extended warranty which is now up. During the warranty period I had problems and the main circuit board with the lamp was replaced. That was a little over a year or so ago. The Sams warranty starts at the end of the manufacturers warranty so with a 3 year extended warranty you actually get 4 years of warranty but that is up now. Paid a lot of money for a product to have this many problems. Don't want to give up on it though as I paid too much money and when working it is a great tv with an excellent picture.

Turned it back on and TV went blank screen but still with sound. No indicator lights. Noticed the lamp light was still on at the back of the set. How do you get a blank screen with the lamp still on? I turned the TV off before it completely cycled off as I do not want to damage the new lamp. I hope this helps with your diagnoses.

So here's the deal: I went through the possibilities, and without my hands on the device, I'm not going to speculate, because it could be several different failure points.
