D8000 and E450 soundbar sound drop issues ?

I have the 55D8000 tv and HW-E450 soundbar. Have soundbar hooked up via optical.. Watching tv I keep getting short audio drops intermittently no matter what channel on cable. I don't think it's soundbar since it was doing this prior to hooking up soundbar.

I checked sound settings within my Uverse DVR and it does same wether I have it on stereo or surround sound settings. It appears it has to be the tv? I have changed audio settings within tv from Dolby Digital to whatever the other setting is? It's getting very annoying... Please help

Elykoj,

I think I have a few possible solutions for you, but let me first figure out which is relevant for your situation. You describe the problem as coming from any "channel on cable." Does this mean you have tried DVDs or Blu-ray discs, and there are no problems whatsoever with the audio from them?

My kids have only watched a few actual bluray/ DVDs on it, since we mostly just watch tv and rent movies through OnDemand. So I cannot verify it happens then too

OK, so please check some DVDs or Blu-ray discs to see if the issue persists. I'm not trying to push you off here. I'm just checking to see if the issue is coming from more than one source.

Sound drops

My wife watched DVD this weekend and she told me she did not notice any sound loss. So I guess it's just happening on cable tv.

It could be something from your cable box, which I can't help you with, because I don't have any information on it, but you may want to try just buying another cable (HDMI or whatever) and switching it out with the existing one.

I have optical from soundbar to tv and I have HDMI from cable box to tv. Are you saying to try replacing the HDMI cable? I am pretty certain it's not the optical since it was doing this before I installed soundbar. So if not HDMI cable you think it's a cable box issue?
