I have a Samsung LCD HDTV which I think is on the way out. It is about 3 years old and recently started to go bad. After a few minutes of normal operation, the image changes drastically. The right side looks normal, then it gets progressive darker and redder towards the left. The right side is almost black. Also, the refresh rate seems to be ok on the right side, while it is very slow on the left side. For example, when I mute the phone, it creates an icon on the left side that jumps to different positions under normal circumstances. When the screen is in the fault mode, I can see several f the icons at the same time, fading slowly.
This fault mode used to last a couple of minutes, then correct itself. Now it lasts sometimes more than an hour.
Is the TV a basket case, or can it be salvaged?
Thanks for your help.
