Samsung forum: Netflix streaming problems on a BD-D5700

1. Get wired for the Internet for a test run.
2. The WiFi is not as good as say a Wii or laptop. Figure it needs to be twice as close as other things.
3. We know that some WiFi settings are not working well. I don't think folk want to discuss that.

Dear Samsung_HD_Tech,

1) I have had a intermittent problem streaming Netflix since I bought my BD-D5700. Your device randomly deactivates my account which necessitates a the tedious process of using a remote control to do a keyboard's work in order to reactivate my account. This has only ever happened with streaming service. I have never had this problem with my old BD-5500 nor my LED TV.

2) The firmware version is 2012/07/26_001015 (current)

3) Yes ! A couple of times. It seems to be the default recommendation of your tech support even if they are informed that it has been done previously.

4) 5-6 mbps

5) The problem occurs when hardwired as well as thru wifi.

I have contacted Netflix about this problem and been assured repeatedly that the issue is either your servers or your app. I really don't care where the problem is at this late stage in the game as long as it is fixed. I completely dissatisfied with the customer service I have received to date regarding this problem. Considering that my brand loyalty to Samsung is in serious doubt, I would think that you would have escalated my previous complaints (different thread) to higher level of management so as to have them resolved. I do expect to be contacted by a factory representative that is capable & invested in resolving this problem as soon as possible. Passing my serial number, ZU9V1T1C201892N, to an appropriately high level customer service manager should enable them to pull up my file with contact information. Again, I thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

I just went to look up your contact info to forward this on, and you apparently never registered this product with the serial number, so we don't have contact info for you. Please contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and provide for us your preferred contact info, and some additional pieces of information I was going to ask for:

Smart Hub Version: (e.g., 3.634-6.00.00061)
Unique ID: (e.g., "EXCA7HZITOD1X")
ESN #: (e.g., "SSGD-D440-110019-1121-120012-161Z[X]" or "not supported")
Error message displayed: (for example, "Unable to connect" or "Cannot Retrieve Title")
All other apps work: Yes/No (If no, which ones don't.)
Router brand and model: (for example, Linksys WRT54G)

To retrieve the Smart Hub Version, Unique ID, and ESN, launch Smart Hub > Press letter D for Settings > scroll to Properties and press enter > scroll to Details and press enter > Document ESN and Unique ID.

I'm sorry for giving you more stuff to retrieve, but the product specialist and engineers are requesting all that information to attempt to recreate the behavior any customer experiences.
