If the firmware is current then you call it in and report the non working title. Some may not like what my thoughts are about BD copy protection but as it stands it's not a technology that we should get attached to. Even read Issac Asimov's Foundation about the products that needed some proprietary power module?

I confirmed it was in fact the player, as I went to an electonics retailer nearby and got them to try the Blu-ray in one of their display model Sony Blu-ray players.
I have also tried this in a newer model Samsung Blu-ray player (BD-D500) and it works fine... I'm not impressed that a two year old Blu-ray player is now incapable of doing what newer ones can do. If this is down to copy protection then it needs to be resolved!!

And there is that SERVICE ISSUES at the top of this forum if they don't fix you up.

I apologize as I have a rather dim view about BD and what they (not Samsung!) did. The very idea that you would need to update firmware to keep players functional is well, I can't begin to fathom how they will keep up after a few years.

The Deathly Hallows Blu-Ray discs are problematic on a wide range of Samsung gear. It has audio glitches on the C5500 and P1500 as well, and sometimes, it won't even load on the P1500. It usually will load on the second or third try, but it does take several *minutes* to load, so it could just be that you're giving up before its slow reader has had time to load everything it needs off the disc....

Thanks dgatwood for your response. I'm getting nothing from Samsung 'officially' on this.
I can assure you I am 'waiting long enough' if you watch the youtube clip this is obvious!
How do you know about the problems with the C5500 and P1500? Are these published in some secret Samsung failure website?
Very frustrating SAMSUNG - sort it out!
