Samsung LED TV Audio Output Options

I'm looking at buying a Samsung D5520 40" TV (European model) soon which I'm planning on hooking up to my Sony HiFi. Trouble is the amp on that doesn't have any digital audio inputs, just analogue. The TV only has an optical output, not an analogue one. The TV does have a 3.5mm headphone jack though, so I was thinking I have two options:
1) Get a 3.5mm->2xRCA cable like this and connect the headphone output to the amp: http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Phono-.../dp/B000Q6LSVS
2) Get an optical->RCA adpater like this to convert the digital output from the TV to an analogue output and connect that to the amp: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cablesson%C2.../dp/B002KHA1J6
Anyone have any ideas on which would be a better bet? Would there be issues connecting the headphone jack to the amp, would the sound quality be a bit off I wonder? And should the digital to analogue option work fine and would it sound better?
Thanks in advance!
