Is Samsung doing away with TV apps?

I've been trying for more than a week to register for an apps account at
the Samsung site, since this is required before I can add any paid
apps. Yet, each time, I get an error message saying:
"Sorry for your inconvenience. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties,
if the problem continues please call 888-899-7609."
I tried e-mailing their customer support but no response.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? Is Samsung doing away with the apps store?
