You're welcome - but I haven't done anything yet, and the power rests on people in service.

If you can't find a transaction number, call 800-SAMSUNG back and start the process explaining your situation. If they can't help with a service assistance, ask for a transaction number and post it here. No sense in wasting time searching if the number is old - let's see if we can work this out with a fresh transaction.

I also have a 60" Samsung TV (Model HLT6156WX) with white spots. It started with one about a 2 weeks ago and I'm now up to 8 spots! I have called and emailed Samsung and only get told that there are "no reported issues" with my model, but clearly there are a lot of people out there with the same problem. PLEASE PLEASE help me get my TV fixed. My trans# is 5102396730.

I haven't received any service from Samsung, only been told "No". I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and I was told there are no reported issues with my model and they would do nothing for me. However you are aware of issues because this forum is about many others who have this model with the same white spot issue. I can see where you have been able to help others get their tv's fixed, why can't you help me?

I too have the white dots and own the Samsung DLP HL-T6176S. I called Samsung and the only recourse was to replace the chip in the TV (which would cost me $523.69 service tech onsite included). I have replaced the lamp three times and purchased the TV less than three years ago. If you think you can help me as it appears you have helped others with this same problem, I, too, would proclaim a renewed faith in Samsung and kind people! I believe this is my Samsung ref # 4113266685. Any hope you can offer before I sell the set for parts?

Thank you for the link -- I went to the Samsung page and they will replace the chip for free, if....i pay for the tech to come to my house and the labor charges. Bet it will be the same price quoted from Samsung at $523.69.

If I might ask, what did it cost you for the tech to come out and the labor charges?

Well I had the same problem but Samsung actually just sent out a repairman this past week and fixed at no charge to me. It is a one time free fix but still free non the less. If you did indeed call Samsung then they would have opened a file and there should be a transaction #.
I would top post this and include the transaction #. Hopefully you too will get some help with this issue.

My Samsung DLP has developed the same problem of white dots that others have experienced over the past couple of years, and your assistance has been commendable. I found and followed your 11/3/09 post; I called 800-SAMSUNG, talked to a CSR, got a transaction number, and got transfered to an ECR. The ECR rep said my tv is "not on the list" but if I pay for a Samsung authorized repairman to come out and evaluate the issue, Samsung will reimburse me for the eval and the company will pay for the repair.

This doesn't sound like a bad deal, however I read that getting reimbursement can be difficult at best. In your opinion, is this the best I can expect and would you recommend that I accept the offer, or is it possible that you can help me get a fully-paid evaluation and repair?

Thanks for responding so promptly. The Samsung rep did not give me a transaction number. I will call back and see if I can get one.

I called the executive number 800-522-7341 and again spoke with someone
there after giving her my transaction number 2013731682. She placed me
on hold and came back and told be that because my TV was manufactured in
2002 that it doesn't qualify for the repair. I bought this TV from Best
Buy in 2007. How is it possible that this TV was manufactured 5 years
before I bought it.If this is how Samsung is going to stand by their product then I guarantee I will never buy one of their products again.It's
obvious there is an issue with the set because of all the posts Im
seeing here and everywhere else. Guess I'll watch it until its
unwatchable then toss it and buy from another brand. So much for
customer loyalty.

Now that I think of it I bought this set in 2008 not 2007.

I started seeing white dots on my 61" Samsung DLP (model# HLT6156WX/XAA) about two weeks ago, starting with about 4 or 5 dots. I initially thought nothing of it (I could live with a few). However, now it's two weeks later and there are over 30. It seems to be getting exponentially worse by the day. I researched the issue online and found that many others experienced the same problem. They were getting theirs fixed for free with a simple call to 1-800-Samsung.

I called only to find out that my particular model is not covered (of course...seemed almost like a bait-and-switch tactic). After confirming the model number with the lady I asked her which models were covered. After a long pause, she was unable to give me that information...only to say "there's like a lot of them."

This is ridiculous. I have read so many people posting about this common issue not just on this thread but MANY others. For Samsung to deny so many people is beyond me. People shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars every couple of years just to watch television. I realize you don't HAVE to spend that much on a tv, but those that do choose to spend the money deserve a quality product with an honest customer service team.

All of my electronic devices are Samsung products: tv, blu-ray (2 players), camcorder, camera, and cell phones (2). Of these, I have had issues with all except my camcorder (purchased 6 months ago) and my camera (rarely used). I am starting to doubt Samsung's electronic superiority. I will definitely think twice about purchasing another Samsung product.

If there is anything you can do to assist I would be greatly appreciative.

I'm having similar issues now with my 67-inch Samsung DLP TV, Model HLT--6756WX/XAA. There were three white spots that showed up on my TV that won't go away, now it's increased to 4 white spots. I understand these are mirror chip issues. I am a big fan of Samsung products and own among other items this TV, a Samsung refrigerator, Samsung Epic 4G Android phone, two Samsung Blu-ray players, and several other products in the past. When I invested in the large sized 67-inch TV, I had an expectation that this was a long-term investment (similar to my past experience in investing in Sony TVs that lasted forever). I am disappointed, however, that the Samsung TV has this problem now and I would really like to get it fixed by Samsung without any charge to me.

I called Samsung support and they gave me a Transaction # 5103077273, and arranged to have a Service Technician come over - they wouldn't tell me, though, if there's going to be a charge, and if so, how much it would cost. I received an email with a In-Home Repair Ticket # 4114192620. No appt has been set but I'm wary of accepting an appt without knowing how Samsung will take care of this repair.

Can you please help get this resolved?

As you requested, I'm contacting you again. There has been no resolution. The service technician finally called after several days (well beyond the time window that Samsung had assured me they will call within), but they told me that they were going to charge me $90 just to come out and assess, and then whatever it takes to repair it. This came as a surprise to me since I thought Samsung would take care of this problem that seems to be a very frequent issue with this Samsung TV model. I had expected this to be a long-term investment, and it was a big investment that I had made ($2,500 plus taxes). The number of white spots have now increased since my last post.

As I mentioned earlier, I am a big Samsung fan and own several Samsung products, but this experience has shaken my faith in Samsung quality, customer service and willingness to stand behind their products.

The Transaction # that Samsung support had given me was 5103077273. The technician visit has been cancelled and I have no further follow-up communication from Samsung on my transaction. Can you please help have this problem fixed at no charge to me?
