Samsung forum: Samsung Smart TV Wireless Keyboard

Well, I don't expect a Tv with a super fast PC that can play the latest super high resolution games, but a TV with a build in surf-machine, that can check news and so on, ..just like Samsung say it can.. but if typing is a pain in the ...

A college of me have a Samsung smart TV and said when I asked how it works..and sort of pushed him into a corner.." IS IT SMART ??"
ehmm well.. it don't.. NOT. ehh ehmm no...well fantastic picture.. and with low voice..I always have my PC turned on ( and connected to that TV) be course it is soooo slow.. and impossible to type anything fast. He went on, "if you want it it is ONLY be course of the design.."
Ok I said I'll pay a fortune for monitor with a great design?

And 30 min ago I found test aired on DK national TV last summer, a test between Samsung and LG.
typing is a mess.. speed is TERRIBLE slow...USELESS..
Both got the final comment: NOT SMART, LG this is simply not good enough, and YOU Samsung:, it's NOT SMART.. none of them do what they say they can. It is a step in the correct direction, but there sure is a long way to the goal..
Picture quality and other features where not tested!!.. Only internet.

So no new TV for me in near future

Rigt now, while I write here, I have a small window with live-news (TV, not internet) running in upper right corner, and if something interresting happens, then I can stop writing and go to full screen and watch TV only..
And for that I use a keyboard, full size you know
NOT a remote..
Not that I don't have a remote that I could use for typing, but seriously life is too short for that ..

and just as a comment: if I missed a program I can se it when I want on the internet, THAT is SMART-TV:) and for that I need a keyboard and some kind of a mouse.. Mr Samsung. HAHA
And a faster processor!! Samsung your brain is too small

But I think you are right about population don't want to sit down and watch 6 or 7 o'clock news, they will watch it 6 min. passed 7 or when ever they have time!

and yeah I remember when we had no internet and only a few TV channels.. It was better?no..Here it was not better, that's for sure..today the quality of the programs are higher than ever!

The Genuine Rii Mini i6 2.4G Wireless Mini Handheld Keyboard with IR Remote looks very nice but you need to keep in mind that it will never do what a Samsung remote control will ever do. If the keyboard works I will suspect problems with the mouse. As to the rest of the IR controls I had bad experience with generic remote controls so I do not expect much from this product. Did anyone try this product?

On the positive side, have you heard of the new Samsung VG-KBD1000 Smart Wireless Keyboard? This is a new product intended for the new "E" generation Smart TVs which has just been released in some countries (see the links below). I inquired this with Samsung Australia and it was like foreign language to them!

I have the D6600 Smart TV but hope (Samsung are you reading this?) that Samsung will upgrade the firmware on the "D" type Smart TVs so we can all enjoy the new Smart keyboard. By the way, this keyboard also has a mouse and full remote control of the Smart TVs so there is no need to focus on third party product. I hope the CNET community can apply pressure on Samsung to come good and give us a professional solution. They made huge work on this so please Samsung, look after your loyal customers.

I've tested the logithech K400 (wireless keyboard+trackpad) on my series 5 (UE32EH5300) 32'' LED, it is recognized instantly. I guess similar products from logitech would be recognized as well on other series 5 or 7 TVs.
I'm waiting for my WIS dongle to arrive so I haven't tested how good typing is (there are very few available textboxes to write into when the smart hub is not configured yet) but it seems alright to me even if the on-screen keypad appears on the screen side when you click on a textbox.
