Stroboscopic flickering on Samsung LCD TV

About a week ago my, almost a year-old, Samsung LN46C650 started flickering like a flashing strobe causing serious headaches after just a minute or so.
I called the customer support and was told it was most likely issue with the cable company as the flickering was occurring only on the HD channels. "OK" - I told myself - " let's wait and see"
Fast-forward a few days and the issue is getting worse - now I have HDMI flickering as well (along with the Diagnostic Picture mode).
I called the customer support once more and this time was told that I can solve it by switching to Movie mode (from the Standard) and lowering the brightness of the TV to 7 (from 9). That the issue would auto-magically fix itself after 2-3 weeks and everything would be dandy.
The Movie mode works, but the picture is quite dull - all other modes (Dynamic, Standard, Natural) flicker as hell.
Well, excuse me Samsung, but I didn't pay $1k for a TV to be forced into using the TV in a dull Movie mode with lowered brightness. Especially during the day when it's quite bright in the room.
So - keep on pressing Samsung into actually admitting there's an issue? Especially considering the fact that the warranty expires in 2 weeks.
If someone's interested - here's a short video of the issue:
