Samsung BluRay BD-C6800 Audio Skips on New BluRay disks

I have a BD-C6800 bluray player that I use primarily for netflix, vudo and dvd's with no problems. The few times that I have played a BluRay disk I get short audio skips throughout the movie.

Latest problem was the just released Harry Potter 7 movie (BluRay).

If this wasn't my second try at getting a bluray player to work, I'd probably just take it back to Costco and start over (had a bad experience with a Vizio player that didn't like the network).

Here's my setup:

I use the fiber optic output to go to my Yamaha receiver (my receiver does not have HDMI switching).

HDMI goes into the TV (LG Plasma)

I do not have a 3d TV

Any ideas?

I have this player and have many audio problems with it. The audio cuts out on all audio outs, the 7.1 analog the optical cable and with the hdmi straight to the tv. This happens on about half the disks that i put in it. All of the discs work fine on the other blu ray players that i have in the house. It is a problem with the player. It also has big problems connecting over a wireless network. Everytime i shut it off i have to re enter the password to get it to connect! This is not acceptable. I of course contacted Samsung and they have the worst customer service in the world. I have just washed my hands of this piece of junk and bought an Oppo 93. I will never buy anything made by Samsung anytime soon that is for sure. The Oppo is fantastic by the way and light years ahead of Samsung.

I had constant audio problems with BDs on this player since the day I got it. In fact, I took the first one back to the store and the replacement had the same problem. At certain spots on certain BluRay disks, the audio cuts out, and sometimes the video freezes. I have noticed that every disk with this problem is encoded with DTS sound. Some disks are unwatchable. Pausing and playing usually restores the audio, sometimes for a long time, others only a few seconds. Software updates sometimes help, but then the problem comes back with new disks. My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the audio processor is under-powered and can't keep up, or there is some other glitch. They keep trying to work around the problem with software updates, but it is a losing battle. I have had no problems whatsoever with the other brand I replaced this one with.
