Samsung LCD TV switch on problem

My Samsung 40" tv (LA40S81B) is around 2 years plus old and is a made in Malaysia model.
One night the tv switched on by itself in high volume and woke us up, I came and switched it off and went back to bed.
From the next morning, the tv wont switch on ! the red led flashes five times and remain on for 4 seconds and again flashes for five times.
After a few days the tv switched on by itself again and worked for around 30 minutes!
After going through the forums I purchased 1000uf, 16V capacitors online and opened the tv but found al capacitors are good. Any how I changed all the 4 capacitors with 1000uf, 10V rating but the symptoms are same, no change at all. I then tried the EPROM reset found the forums but again no result! assembled tv back and left it switched on, and again a few days later found the tv is on! switched it off with remote and tried switching on again, but again the led just flashes!
Any one can help me please???

You'll need a qualified tech. Tried 1-800-SAMSUNG (if you're in the USA)?

I live in Canada and tried 1 800 samsung.
They are not able to attend to it as there is no Samsung service centre where I live. the nearest is 500 kms away !!!

Canada is one big place. I lived in Richmond, BC for many fine years.

I hear you but if you are to become a TV repair person you find yourself yearning for the days when you got out your Sam's PhotoFact and scoped out a set. Today you replace boards or CAPS when it's failing the visuals.

As this is DIY, Samsung does not offer a service to DIY repair. You might order parts but no maker I know of offers diagnostics or such.

Sorry but now it's time for board swaps.

trying to find out where I can get boards for swap !But if I have to buy both the T con and the power supply board, then i will be spending more than the price of a new tv.
Is there a place where I can return the boards if it is not the problem???

No one I know accepts returns. You can ebay the parts just like all things.

You may want to reconsider a shop repair.

Should only need power board

I don't know the exact name, but mine was under warranty and they replaced the power board, just call their service department.
