HTC6930W Intermittent sound problems

I have purchased a Samsung UE40C7000 tv and a HTC6930W home cinema system. I am very happy with the tv and, for the most part, with the Blu Ray system.
The HTC6930W works fine for 95% of the time, however, every 10 minutes or so the sound from the tv is lost for 2-3 seconds. I have veriied that it is not the digital tv source (SKY TV) which is the problem as we have been using the SKY TV just through the tv for a few weeks without an issue.
I originally had the digital tv box connected to the HTC6930 via a HDMI cable and then a HDMI from the HTC6930 into the TV. I thought that this might be the issue and Samsung helpline cofirmed that it would be better to connect the digital box and HTC6930 separately to the tv via two HDMI cables and have the audio to the HTC6930 via an optical cable. I have now got this set up but the problem persists.
Has anyone else experienced this? I currently have no internet for the HTC6930 to connect to but wonder if this problem would be fixed with a software upgrade. I purchased the system in September and it hasn't been upgraded since.
Apart from this intermittent fault the system works fine. Thanks in advance.
