Recurring Message - Device Not Found/USB2 Overload

Hi,

Just purchased a Samsung LN46C650 - everything working OK, but after a few days use a box keeps coming up saying "Device Not Found/ USB2 Overload" - I removed the wireless dangle (it was quite hot), but the message keeps reappearing.

Any thoughts/suggestions???????

I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your set.

Are you using the WIS09ABGN LinkStick? You might try exchanging the LinkStick.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm using the WIS09ABGN LinkStick. Is your advice to exchange it for another LinkStick or another adapter altogether? Also, given the message comes up whether the LinkStick is in or not, soes that matter?

That would matter. If you're getting that message with nothing inserted into the USB port, then that indicates something happening beyond the scope of the LinkStick. You probably want to have the TV serviced.

I noticed that you posted that you just purchased it - you may want to check with your retailer to find out what your options are. Samsung can service the unit as well, by calling 800-SAMSUNG.

Thank you for your response.

I agree re: the LinkStick - given that the message occurs without its insertion, I think it is not a defective adapter. I did contact the retailer as a first resort and their response was to replace the cable box???? There have also been other posts on this issue (search my subject title on google) that indicate it is a TV issue and requires a service call. Very frustrating for a week old purchase but I will keep trying!!!

Most retailers offer to exchange or attempt to send a service person over to take a look, but if there's a return policy, you might see what you can do.

I did take a look as you said, but it seems that most of the affected units are 2009 B-series.

But that's "everybody else" stuff. Let's get your situation figured out. If you're not able to exchange it or it's not easy to have the retailer assist, we can send someone out to repair it and get you up and running. Our call center at 800-SAMSUNG should be able to assist with that.

I appreciate your patience, and I'm sorry this happened.

Thanks a lot. I called 800-SAMSUNG and they recommend I do a firmware update. I'm a MAC user and it wouldn't let me unzip the .exe file, so I need to get to a windows machine and get the files on a flash drive. I'm hoping this works, otheriwse I'm thinking of just taking i back to the store for a replacement. We will see.

Appreciate the help.

Hello,

Just found this thread.
I have a B-Series TV and I'm having this same issue.
New Device Not Found / USB 2 Overload

In a previous post you noted "I did take a look as you said, but it seems that most of the affected units are 2009 B-series."

Has there been any further information obtained on this issue?
I have Geek Squad coming out to replace the boards in my TV but if there's an easier fix, I'd sure like to find it.

No further information that I'm aware of. It's a case-by-case basis with the service center, and if you're having the Geek Squad coming, they'll probably be able to help get your set back up and running. Either the port is damaged, or there's another reason you're getting the error message. The technician may be able to give you insight.

But I'd recommend having the service done.
