I see that no one has even responded. I cannot fix TV, but I see another thread in this same Samsung forum of 6 people with white dots on screen. At the time that I post, it is on page 2. Hope you get a solution.

hectorandrosie,
Please post your transaction numbers here if you have an issue.
Usually when I see someone post them, I send them up immediately, as the service center reviews the case and makes the decision. Since the OP hasn't responded back (since September), his situation may have been taken care of. If not, please let me know, and I'll be happy to escalate them, and others who post here.

White spots on TV model # HLT6176SX-XAA

I am also having an issue with white spots, started out as one now there are 11-13 spots on the TV. The TV is barely 3 years old and when I contacted customer service was told it wasn't under warranty and that I would have to fix the TV on my own. I am being told the part is pretty expensive. Is this a normal occurance with these TV's? I see a lot of forums for this very issue. What are my options, should I just buy another TV?

I just got off the phone with a supervisor at Samsung. All I got was the run around on why my DLP HLT5676s is not covered to repair white dots. I got somthing about a chip that my TV dose not have. My question to you HD Tech is, why should that matter. My $2000 TV is having the exact problem, why should I not be treated the same! My TV is only 3 yrs old, I spent a good chunk of change to buy what I thought was a reliable brand!
I guess what I would like to know is there anything or anyone that I can right a letter or make a phone cll to get this changed!!!!

It has been a few days now, just wondering if you have any update for me. I have recived a service call. I asked them a few question about how much it will cost to fix, and what TV's have they fixed before. They told me it would cost $250 for the part and $150 for the service call. So its going to cost me almost 1/4 of what I paid for my TV to get it fixed, when other people are getting FREE!!! That is the part I dont understand. I did find out that the TV in the past that they have fixed we all 720p and mine is 1080p. That is interesting because all DLP are haveing the same problem, I would hope that we would be treated the same.
Please contact me as soon as possable, so I know if I need to make a service call and eat $400 on a 3 year old piece of S TV. I do apprecate your help if everything is taken care of, I will continue to give Samsung a good review!

onecustomer,
The manager I send stuff up to is working on quite a few cases, and I sent this up on the 24th. I know that they are a bit backed up. Let me see if I can get an update.
I appreciate your patience, and stay on me until service tells us both, "no".

PROBLEM FIXED FOR FREE
by kejmw00 - 2/1/11 2:39 PM
In Reply to: Samsung DLP TV white dots by rickannaleer
I also had white dot's taking over my 42 inch DLP like a cancer. I was ready to "S"can it after hearing of so many people having the same exact problem with no help from "SAMSUNG" then I did one last follow up on the problem only to find that It was actually identified and being fixed by "SAMSUNG". After speaking to a authorized "SAMSUNG" repair rep. I discovered that It was in fact a defective "DMD" chip designed by "TEXAS INSTRUMENT'S" It of course had been thoroughly tested but for some reason there was no way of knowing that the "MIRROR'S" would actually begin sticking around the "3RD." year of ownership basically a severe part defect that is being fixed by "SAMSUNG" for "FREE" under what is reffered to as some sort of "SETTLEMENT" "PC" terminology not a horrible "RECALL" reference. regardless my tv was fixed yesterday 1/31/11 in about 20 min by a tech. I am so happy and I hope this help's everyone else with this cancerous galaxy on their screen. P.S' this is a "ONE-TIME" fix, as I hope that's is all I need. thank's.

No success with my "White Dotted" HLT6176SX

Called 1-800Samsung and got the run around ... "your model is not on the list". I asked to speak with a supervisor and unfortunately one was not available. They took my name and cell # for a call back, but I don't hold out much hope.
Is there any help here??? My transaction # is 2013071304. It started with one dot and now I am up to 3 in the matter of two days. With everything I've read, it looks like it will only get worse from here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

unhappy_samsung_customer,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with a DLP television.
I sent up your transaction number this evening to one of the managers in the service department. It usually takes a few days for them to review the case and make a decision, and if they're able to assist, they will reach out to the phone number associated with your transaction number.
Keep me posted.
