SAMSUNG DLP TOO DARK

I replaced my samsung DLP (model HLR5067WX/XAA) lamp approximately 3 months ago. Within the past month I've noticed that my screen is too dark. I've tried adjusting my colors, brightness etc to no avail. Could this be a problem with my lamp after only three months. Please help..............Thanks

The lamps are usually good for 3000+ hours across the board, so this shouldn't be happening within 3 months, even if the TV was on 24 hours a day. Constant On/Off can significantly reduce the life as well, but that is likely not the issue here. However, it may be an issue with the lamp not working properly. Was the replacement lamp a genuine Samsung part, or was the lamp taken apart and replaced with a new glass piece?

HDTech,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I purchased the lamp from newegg.com and it was advertised as "eReplacements BP96-00826A RPTV Lamp for Samsung". The warranty period has already expired and therefore stuck. How can I tell if it's a genuine Samsung part? Do I need to go through Samsung to order a genuine lamp? Please advise.

There is www.samsungparts.com which can also be reached at 800-627-4368. But even a few months is paltry for a replacement, and I'm sorry to hear it lasted so short. The genuine ones usually come in a Samsung-branded box.
