Soundbar not turning off with TV

Hello!
Today I got a HW-C450 Soundbar for my LE40B550 LCD TV. The TV is plugged in to the Optical 1 input of the bar. No other devices are connected. I enabled the Auto Power feature of the soundbar. It turns on when the TV is turned on, but it doesnt switch off when i power down the TV. After a huge delay it finally turns off, but from the manual I understand this as power-saving... I would like to have the bar powered off simultaneouisly with the TV. The TV is set to "external speakers"

I noticed that as well. The manual states that it will turn on with the TV but will remain on for approximately 20 minutes after the TV is turned off. It would seem to me power savings would be realized if it turned off when the TV was turned off.

One workaround if you use a cable box is to plug a multi-plug extension cord into the plug on the cable box, (my Cisco cable box from Time Warner has a power outlet on the back of it). Now plug the sound bar and the sub-woofer into the extension cord and set the outlet to power off when you turn off the cable box. Not a very elegant solution but it works. Only downside is that you'd have to turn on your cable box each time and if you were watching a DVD or something non-cable it may seem more hassle.

Thank you for your answer!
But I'm just using my TV as DTV Receiver, so i dont have a cable box running here. At least I know now that it isnt only my problem...
