Samsung R580 Webcam doesnt work..new

Well currently, i went to device manager and checked. Updated and all, my integrated webcam.. Being "ViMicro USB 2.0 (Venus)" and nothing will work. I have tried youtube, 3rd party software. ViMicro's website is complete crap.. Nothing will work. It hasnt worked since out of both but programs DETECT it..it just wont stream any video or anything

*Note*
There is no indicator light or anything, it doesnt have one at all built in.

Haseo34,

You may need to install the original driver again. Here's a link:

http://tinyurl.com/38x2tbh

Click on Drivers (in blue under the Downloads tab) and the webcam software will be on the very bottom. If that doesn't work, you may need to uninstall the software and try to install it again.

Let me know if that works, or what happens.

Driver update?

Is there a reason the R580's webcam frame rate is so bad? A search for the driver on the laptop reveals the driver itself is from 2006. And looking for an updated driver on Samsung.com shows only an XP version. Perhaps it's time for an upgrade? This is the only complaint I have from this stellar laptop.
