C5500 & PC Share Manager: Folders are Empty !

I just purchased a C5500 and have it connected via a hard wired internet connection. Firmware is updated. Running version 4.2 of PC Share manager and sharing 3 folders that contain MKV files.

I set the device policy in the software to allow the C5500 to see the folders.

When I go C5500 and change device to the "PC Share Manager" I see the 3 shared folders, but the folders are all empty. Spent an hour on the phone with Samsung support with no help other than a product specialist will call me back in 24-48 hours.

The MKV files play fine when I copy them to a USB drive and play them thru the USB port from the C5500.

I even turned off my windows fire wall and had the same results (prior settings were firewall on with a notification when the firewall blocked a new program).

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you refreshed the folders after adding them?

As well, have you checked compatibility for the files? If not, please post back the full model number for your unit and let me know if this worked for you.

Yes I did refresh after adding folders. The files are compatible according to to the manual, and they do play if i copy them to a USB device and plug that usb device directly into the bluray player.

The files in my folder that i am trying to play/get to display are MKV & MP4 video files.

the bluray model number is BD-C5500

It may be an issue with the network. The files are compatible, so that seems to work on that.

The other option may be to try a different media server software. I do know that some users champion several different media software titles, and that may help connect as well. I just can't speak to why they're not streaming through the network.

I know it's been two and a half years since you posted this but I had the same problem and was searching for an answer. Just unshare the folder in PC Share Manager, then reshare the folder and refresh the database. Worrked for me.
