My Samsung HLS6187WX/Xaa keeps shutting off

I was getting an error message stating "check fan #2" I ordered and replaced that fan. Now when I put on the tv, it immediately shuts off. I can see the picture when it is on but the stand by and light both blink after it shuts off. Does this mean I now need a new light bulb or could it be something else?

The lamp itself is probably still okay. There are two possible remedies that you can try before a technician's call is necessary.

1. Check to make sure that the fan is installed correctly, and that the blue-hinge kill-switch on the lamp door is able to move freely.

2. (After unplugging the unit) Reseat the lamp by pulling it out and pushing it back in. Sometimes if a unit is moved around, you'll want to make sure that it's securely in place. Unscrewing the lamp from the housing, pulling it out, and pushing it firmly back in and reattach it. Plug the TV back in and see if it's able to start.

If not, it may require service.

Thanks for getting back to me. I had to remove the lamp in order to replace fan #2 so in a sence it was reset. I did go back after your replay to make sure the fans were working and I once again removed the lamp and could feel the fan so it is working as well as the other one. I also reset the lamp again, just in case and it still immediately shuts off with the lamp light flashing in the front. Any other suggestions?
