Samsung forum: Samsung HT-BD1250-XAA fast forwards by itself and beeps

Please update us all on your progress to rectify this extreme issue for all of us.

We have loved the HT-BD1250 since we got it in Feb 2010. I have a Samsung refrigerator, 52" TV, PC, etc. For the last three weeks, either watching cable, NetFlix, a DVD or listening to our CD player, the Samsung HT system has been fast forwarding, beeping incessantly, displays the red circle with the slash through it in the upper right corner. I was thinking I was the only one with this issue, until I read this thread. My system tells me I have the latest Firmware.

Samsung, take notice, we all have the same exact problem. It is in your design. My wife totally agrees with 14G-Randy. My wife is ready to throw it out the window and never let me by Samsung again.

Samsung - redeem yourself, please.

I too am having all of the above said issues. I purchased my HT-bd1250 XAA form HHgregg for Christmas of '09. I have had my player serviced while still under warranty for these issues only to have it returned after 3 weeks and told that they "could not find anything wrong with my unit."
Well surprise, surprise the issues have returned. I have yet AGAIN spoken with Technical Support (she had me unplug and replug my unit and she could also hear the unit going haywire) only to be told that the unit will need serviced yet again but at MY expense due to the fact it is no longer covered under warranty.
Sounds like a RECALL is needed here Samsung for a faulty system!!!

It's been a while since this problem originally was reported here. I personally don't know what became of most of their situations. So how about you recap for me what your problem is and other pertinent details, such as what you have tried and which firmware version are you on now?

If you will take the top cover off of you will see three separate computer board wires towards the front of the DVD player. (Be careful lifting the top cover b/c your volume wire is connected to the cover itself). The first set controls the power, middle set controls stop, play, FWD, RWD. the third controls your volume. Your problem is that the board they used is not great for touch uses and after a few months they "stick" (shooting signals to stop or forward through your movies). If you will disconnect the board that controls your play, stop functions and use your remote it will stop cycling through your movies. if you want to still use your touch buttons instead of only being able to use your remote take a dust cleaner and spray off the board. Hope this helps.
