HT-BD8200 Sound Bar Audio Sync Issue

Hi

I recently purchased a HT-BD8200 soundbar to connect to my (first generation) Series 7 40inch LED TV. I have the soundbar connected to my TV via the HDMI cable included with the soundbar.

The issue is when I watch a DVD (either upscaled to 1080p or using BDwise to set the resolution) there is a noticable lipsync issue and the audio does not line up with the picture. I have tried changing different settings on the soundbar's audio delay and set it to 0ms 75ms and 50ms and the synch issue is still there at all these settings.

Please Help! its driving me nuts and wrecks the whole viewing experience.

p.s oh and I have updated the soundbar to the latest firmware.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

Does adjusting the AV SYNC menu help at all? Have you tried going up further to 100ms or 120ms, or does it have the reverse effect?

Hi HDTech

I have been trying to adjust the AV SYNC and going further up makes the effect worse - as does having the delay set to zero. Is there a recommended setting? or is it dependent on the individual DVD or Blu Ray.

Is there any scope for the sync increments to be set in a updated firmware to be smaller? ie 50 55 60 65.... ms increments? Perhaps then it would be possible to find the sweet spot...

Sorry for all the questions - just still finding this very frustrating..

If it gets progressively worse, it may be an issue with the player or the disc. This symptom could be common in discs that contain files that were downloaded and burned, but if you're using regular pressed store-bought movies or rentals, then it may be an issue with the player.

You noted the sweet spot in your post in reference to the smaller increments. Did you find a setting that "almost worked", say between 55 and 60? Or were all of the settings getting further from synchronization?

Let me know and I'll look into this further.

Samsung soundbar e350

I have the same problem as the guy with the HT-BD8200. TV works fine with the soundbar, but playing DVD's leads to lip sync issues. The adjustment on the remote control to 0,25,50,75 etc does not fix the problem as none of them come out right.

Have other users with an E350 had similar problems playing DVD's?
