Samsung forum: UN46C6800 VS UN46C6900

The UN46C6900 is a Best Buy exclusive, and doesn't have the SamsungApps, but does have HotApps, which is a partnership with Best Buy for many of their widgets. You'll still be able to get Netflix, Pandora and many of the other services, but they won't be under the SamsungApps, but the HotApps offering by Best Buy.

Currently, there are no plans to release a B8500-like LED for 2010 that I'm aware of. Things can change, of course, but at this point, I'm not aware of any plans.

The B8500 backlit allows you to have region (or local) dimming; where the light source behind the panel actually dims or turns off depending on the picture.

The C6800 doesn't have that, but does consume less power than the B8500, and provides a great picture as well.

I wouldn't have a preference either way - both are great sets, but back-light systems are typically more expensive, and desired by the true videophiles. The models this year focus on a great picture and eco-friendliness, as well as incorporating the Samsung Apps in several of the higher models, including the C6800.

So either one is a winner, depending on what best suits your needs.

The B8500 is not being manufactured at this time, to the best of my knowledge. I can't speak to what prompts change, additions or subtractions to features or technologies - I'm not part of those discussions. I'm sorry for not being able to answer that more directly.

While Researching I noticed that the C6900(Best Buy Exclusive) has a different colored Bezel than the C6800 that is being soled on Websites such as Amazon...

Can you tell us what is the color difference

From this thread I did not get what is the real difference between these two series and the reason behind the production of two (almost) identical sets. Is it only about the touch of color hue? Or is there something more of a substance? Which one to buy? List price is the same but street price is higher on 6900. Because of a newer release?
