DLP Chip Replacement, Picture\Focus Adjustment
by jwkoeberlein - 4/3/10 9:19 PM
I just had the DLP chip replaced in my HLS4266XW tv due to the white dot issue. Service was excellent, called Samsung and they opened servce ticket(100% paid service for my oow tv), repair shop called me that day, repair guy was at my house in less that 24hrs and white dot issue is gone thanks to the new chip. HOWEVER, the picture on my tv is now fuzzy\hazy especially when there is text on the tv. I wrote my settings down prior to the chip replacement and I set them back up after the chip replacement so I know they are the same as before. The picture just is no where close to as crisp and clear as it was before the chip was replaced. The picture just isn't sharp now. I've read that the repair guy should have re-focused and\or adjusted the picture after the chip was replaced as it is standard to have to do this after any chip is replaced? Is there any truth to this and if so any recommendations as to how to do it myself or is this something a tech will have to come back out for. I have the HD package and the fuzzy\hazy picture is obvious on all HD channels and with both HDMI and HD Composite connections. Please help!!
