Connecting IPod to Samsung

So I have an issue connecting my tv to my IPod (as the title encompasses).

I recently purchased a Samsung 40" (LN40B530) and have not been able to connect my IPod to the TV to playback audio. I don't have any need for watching vids or viewing pics. All I would like to do is play my music through the TV.

I have attempted to run both a Y-cable (red/white endings) and a direct male-to-male connection to the tv through the IPod's headphone jack but nothing has worked. Additionally, I attempted to plug in the Y-cable ending to the various inputs on the back of the TV to no avail. Finally, I ran through the various cable connections while switching b/w the on-screen TV menus (PC/AV/Component) and that didn't solve the problem.

Does ANYONE have any advice on this issue? I am baffled as to how to make this work. Shouldn't be this difficult, but what in life is ever as easy as one expects. sad

Composite cables?

Might want to try putting your red-whites into the composite plugs and put a yellow cord in beside them so all of the composite plugs are filled on the TV (the other end of the yellow cord wouldn't be connected). TV should (might) recognize that Composite is a Source and then play through the audio.

Mp3 and picture playback is available on the LNxxB540/550 and up models. So unfortunately, there's no official way to hook it up.

However, the above response may be a workable workaround.

You might also try the PC input if you have a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable. You may have to edit the name of your PC input from "----" to "PC", and can be found on Page 34 of your manual on the step by step instructions on how to do this.
