PROT message on display - HT-Z320

My HT -Z320 Home Theater wont turn on. When I press ON on unit or remote unit turns on briefly displaying in sequence HELLO - D-IN - PROT and then the unit turns off. Same if y press OPEN or any other function. Always end in PROT and turns off. What does PROT mean and how can I keep unit ON? thanks

I have exactly the same problem on my HT-BD1250, latest firmware. I did not find any threads on your message and was wondering if and how your problem was solved. Thanks.

In many cases, PROT or PROTECT is a warning that appears when either:

1. Speaker wires are crossed (positive or negative touching either behind the unit or at the speaker inputs)

or

2. The unit has an internal issue if not resolved by #1.

Check the back of your unit to make sure that none of the red and black speaker wires are touching, and then check the rear of each speaker.

Thank you for your reply.
Apparently the unit has an internal problem (I took all the speaker wires off, same result).
