Samsung led 7000 40" MKV ( not supported file format )

I have Samsung led 7000 40"
but i can't play MKV file i got that error ( not supported file format )
I have a network storage .its Western Digital my book world edition and i connect it to my network
all thing is ok my led connect to it and i play many movie from it but the only format i can't play it is the MKV format so how can i fix this problem?
or the DLNA doesn't support the MKV file
I play the same file from another HDD but i connect it through the usb port and the file is ok its work
Can anyone help me to know if i am correct about the DLNA that it can't support the MKV format

So the only way to play the MKV format is to use it from usb HDD or there is another way to fix that problem ???

I'm a little confused.

You said that you can't play it from network storage, but you can play it with a USB thumbdrive. Do I understand this correctly?

Are you using the PC Share Manager software, or a different media server software?

iI Didn't use any software because . I have WD my book world edition and i connect it to my network router linksys WAG160N also i connect the LED samsung 7000 40" to the same network
So that the way to see the WD HDD
I choose it from the samsung LED 7000 menu i choose the devise from the menu and i see all my video File and i can play all of it but the only format i can't play it until now is the MKV format
Also any file i can play it but i can't pause it or forward it or rewind it
That is my two problem

But if i play the same MKV file from any usb storage like USB flash drive or Portable USB HDD its work
My problem is :
Can i play the MKV file from my network storage or not ?

broadway2,

The television should be able to play MKV, but you need to have the right audio codec and resolution in place as well.

Not all formats will FF/REW, and that's listed in the manual as a limitation.

Hey broadway 2,

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I'm using a Samsung LED series 7000 46' tv and a Seagate GoFlex Home drive and I'm experiencing the same problems. My 32GB USB stick works perfectly in my tv, but the GoFlex drive will play most files but not the MKV files nor can I fast forward or resume files from where I left off on them.
