PN50A650 huge "Mode Not Supported" HDMI Issues

I have a HD Media Player Box connected to my Samsung PN50A650 Plasma with an HDMI cable and the output to the TV is 1080p60. Initially it connected fine but now I'm getting "Mode Not Supported" when I turn on the media box. It also happens when I disconnect it to put videos on it from my computer, then reconnect to the TV.
I've done everything I possibly can to remedy it.....it is not anything to do with the media player because when the TV recognizes the signal it works perfectly. I've tried working the problem thru the manufacturer of the player and I've tried everything with the Plasma TV but I still get "Mode Not Supported".
Is there a recent firmware for my TV that could fix this it is ridiculously annoying......

I've attached it via component cables to the plasma and that seems to work just fine. It's unfortunate that the HDMI won't work.

......what is the deal with Samsungs and HDMI handshake issues?

Either there is an overscan that goes beyond the limitations of the acceptable input, a setting in the graphics card that isn't compatible or the signal wasn't sent in a resolution that the television accepted. I'm not sure which one it would be.

The signal I have it set to output and the signal sent SHOULD be 1080p60, and I have 24p set to "on" most of the time.

There is a screen calibration portion in the media player setup that has the user (me) set the size of the screen via a movable set of lines, top/bottom, side-side, and the instructions also say to set the lines to "just disappear" from sight once they've reached their respective edges.

Do you think that would cause "overscan" issues?

The player uses a Realtek chipset so I don't think it would be the video card itself. I'm not even for sure if it has a video card in the same sense of a computer video card as it is a true dedicated media player.
