Samsung external speaker volume control with TV remote

I have a Samsung 750 series TV and have connected external speakers to it using my older Harmon Kardon amp. I have connected the audio out RCA on the TV to the Aux In on the receiver. The speakers work fine but I can not control their volume using the TV remote volume control. I can only control the volume using the amp volume control. How do I connect it so that all volume control is with my TV remote? I have tried all the other connections, including the adudio out in my HD cable box to the amp but with same results. Thanks.

As you may have read in another current thread, the external audio outputs are fixed. To control a receiver from the TV remote, I think you would need an amp or Home Cinema system compatible with HDMI-CEC (i.e. "Anynet+")
