UE40B7000 - DLNA video resolution?

I've installed the media server on my laptop and shared some avi files(connection established via: laptop-wifi-router-rj45-TV). I've tried to play a ~720p movie but i've received and error - unsupported resolution - or something like that. Please let me know if the available (playable) resolutions of avi are ONLY these from the user manual? Is there any way to bypass the video resolution check or i have to convert/upscale all files from ~hd-ready to perfect-full-hd (to exact full hd resolution: 1920x1080) to play the files?

The resolutions in the manual are the ones that we know will work. While some other format/codec/resolution combinations may exist or work with varying degrees, we don't support files that aren't specifically listed in the manual.

Sorry, but I have this tv too and many media files whiches can be played from USB, but when I try to play them from PC, then I get the same (not supported) error message on tv.
I checked these media files, these contain divx and ac3 coded tracks, what are confirmed for playing (and it works from USB without any problem with this tv set), but I get error via DLNA.

Files with divx and mp3 tracks can be played via DLNA, but these are always displayed with black borders. I've read in another thread from you that is the problem of resolution. But is also not exactly true. Because if I set the picture size to "original" from "Fit", then it will be a very small (~1/10 size of picture), but the most divx come with 6xx X 3xx resolution, what is not 1/10 part of 1920x1080.

I think somebody at Samsung should try this function out at least...

Alternative servers

Try another server. Others may be less restrictive in what they offer to playback. Serviio is simple to set up. TVersity is also popular.
