Samsung forum: PN50B650 Youtube widget won't play video

I hope that the level of support here in the Cnet forums is not indicative of samsung support in general. If so then this will be my last samsung purchase. There is apparently no way to use the consumer Q&A section of their site and getting a response here is impossible. Looks like my BD purchase is gonna be a Panny or LG. Based on my initial experience with sammy support.

The Youtube playback error message kept appearing when I wanted to watch any video. I contacted samsung customer service and they advised me to reset my TV. They gave me directions for this procedure but all that I did was unplug my TV for a few minutes and that fixed the problem for me. Here are the directions from Samsung:

Video play back error is caused if the file is already delete and if the file is broken.

If the issue is with all the videos, then try to reset the TV and then try to check and also make sure that the
network test passes.


To perform a Factory Reset, follow the instructions below:

1.With the TV on, press and hold [Exit] on the TV remote for a longer time for 10 seconds

2.A warning message appears on screen. Understand that all of your settings are lost upon completion of the
Factory Reset.

3.Press the [Left Arrow] to highlight OK, and then press [Enter].

After the Factory Reset is completed, the TV powers itself off. Upon powering the TV on for the first time after
the Factory Reset, the Plug & Play screen appears just as if you had turned the TV on for the first time.
