Samsung DLP Digital Board Issue - Went to Arbitration
Had a similar issue with my HLR5678 -- it was the digital board DNIe chip.
I did two things, I filed a complaint with with the NJ attorneys office and I sent my board to JD Electronics (Owosso, MI) for diagnosis since everyone gave them good reviews.
Eventually, I had an arbitration hearing last year with Samsung and received $500 compensation for their defective board design. So I was happy about that.
However my tv still didn't work...so meanwhile, JD Electronics said they fixed my digital board and shipped it back to me via UPS. Great, I thought. But get this, turns out they had stopped paying their UPS bill and had their account suspended/cancelled. And lucky me, my package with all 3 boards got stolen after being delivered. And UPS wouldn't pay my claim for the lost package because JD Electronics' account wasn't in good standing, and JD Electronics pretended they didn't even know who I was. More than a year later and after I wrote them a letter asking them to help me out, they completely ignored my correspondence. Now I have a shell of a DLP tv sitting in the closet waiting to be dumped.
So if you're thinking about using JD Electronics to fix your Samsung or Xbox board, you might want to find out how they're shipping your package...they tried to pull a shady move for me (free UPS shipping for them!) and I got screwed in the process.
