BD-P1600 Stuck on LOAD w/ UP! and other Pixar movies

by foertter - 11/21/09 11:38 PM

Well, add me to the list of people stuck on LOAD and not able to eject the disk...

Updated to firmware 2.05, played "Night at the Museum" then tried "UP!" and it ate it...wont give it back, wont load, wont do anything. Who's the genius that didn't program into the firmware a fail safe to notice for something gone awry? A small chip or key combination would have done...or even a small reset button in the back...SOMETHING! Can't eject the stupid Netflix BD, and holding down FF doesn't work for this model...even thought the Samsung staff here suggests that "fix" for this model.

Samsung tells me to mail it...box cost is up to me but they'll pay shipping... I'm pissed I have to mail it away with a disk inside so I complained...

Got a 'Ms Shontay' on the phone... HORRIBLE customer service... she could barely speak English... if I heard another "I understand Ma'am" I might have exploded... I told her my plight and how the DVD is stuck and it's from Netflix and she was like "oh well" finally I kept saying "not good enough, I need the disk back or money from Samsung to pay Netflix for the lost disk..." she hung up on me even though I could hear some manager in the back coaching her... WOW!

Called again, got some Indian lady... at least she could speak English but the "Ma'am" didn't stop. She gave me a semi-solution to put in the notes that "the disk is to be returned to the customer" and gave me her agent ID. At least that was a tad better than the idiot before her.

Tried .RUF file onto a USB key (2.04) but that didn't do anything, no reboot, nothing...

I don't know what to do sad But for sure this is the LAST Samsung product I will buy thanks to the crappy CS...this was the worst I've seen in a long while.
