My LN46A650A1F screen goes blank for exactly 3 seconds.....

......after about 1 hour of viewing, the screen goes blank for 3 seconds, but the sound continues. Anyone else have this problem? When I called Samsung customer care, they said they 'never heard of this, it must be your cable signal'. Well, if that is true, why does it not repeat the issue if I am watching a DVD or the cable DVR player? I can rewind back past the 'blank spot', but it does not go blank again at that point. WTF is going on here? Please don't tell me I gotta pack it up and take it to Fry's to have it looked at. Purchased October 6, 2008, and I got a 2 year extended warranty.

Does it play for another hour then go blank again after the first time?

You are right, I doubt you would be losing the signal at the same interval from more than once source.

It does sound like a TV problem. I thought Fry's service people would come to you for a large screen.

it only does it once, usually about 1 to 1.5 hours in, and usually just as my team is about to kick a winning field goal! (LOL)......

What input, and what device is this happening with?

Sounds like a DHCP (copy protection) issue. The picture will go out, however the audio will continue when the source (cable box, etc) detects that it isn't connected to a panel device.

Cable box: Motorola Host Set-top DCH3416
Receiver: Yamaha RXV663
BluRay: Samsung BDP-1500
and all are hooked up via HDMI cabling, as per the wirewize setup suggestion.

...and it's plugged into input 3 on the back of the set.

So this is happening with both the cable box and Blu-Ray? It may be the TV, but if you're passing a 1080p signal through a receiver that doesn't support 1080p, it may be causing the signal to break and reconnect. You might check see if it happens when you bypass the receiver and plug directly into the television. If it doesn't happen when hooked up directly, it may be an issue with the receiver rather than the TV.

Yamaha Receiver RXV663

the receiver does handle 1080P, but the cable box only goes up to 1080i. It hasn't happened in a week or so, maybe it fixed itself?
And it does only happen when I view my comcast cable, via cable or a dvr show.
