Samsung forum: Samsung LCD TV LE22B450 no sound with external speakers

I have found out that the RCA connectors on the back of the TV are inputs only. Hence the only solution appears to use the headphones output and use a jack plug to RCA adapter cable. This works well.

i recently bought this LA32C450 LCD TV and HTC350 system which comes with speakers and
a DVD player.

since its a series 4 TV, i can directly plug in my USB.
picture is good but there is no sound even if i select in the MENU > SOUND > and set it to EXTERNAL SPEAKERS

btw the DVD player also has an option to plug in my usb. sound is good, but it can only play
a limited file format unlike the LCD tv which plays almost everything.

640GB is a bit large for a directly-powered drive. Use external power.

thanks! that's exactly what i did. bought an RCA cable (3.5 x 2) and set my dvd player to AUX.

and the other problem of my 640gb getting disconnected after a while is that it needs to
have an external power to plug it in.

but even the 1 terra bytes nowadays have internal power and are very compact.
and so the workaround i do is to copy the movies i like to watch in my psp that has an 8gb memory.
