Samsung forum: " check signal cable" message stays on the screen of HDTV

I have a Gateway with the same problem when I use a HDMI cable. The monitor does dot sense to sleep when HDMI signal goes away. It is clearly a monitor not sensing problem. I wonder if add another monitor cable might shut the monitor down when the computer shuts down?

Even I had the same issue when I was connecting my VAIO with HDTV (5 Series).

Hence, I tried the following options.
1) Looked for updated BIOS / display drivers - No Luck
2) Connected another laptop & PC - No Luck
3) Took my laptops to a Samsung showroom and tried connecting it there using their VGA cable - It worked.
4) Then i tried my VGA cable (assuming that my cable might be the root cause of the problem) & surprisingly it worked.
5) Connected in all possible series of LCD & LED TVs and all of them were just working fine.

Finally, under the assumption that may be I was not so lucky while buying the TV, I contacted the Service centre.

They told me that it's a very common problem in many Samsung LCD & LED TVs. He just replaced the connectivity board on my TV with a new one and now everything is working just fine.

Hence dude, If your warrenty period is still active then I would suggest you to try that option once as well. who knows it might work.
