dark spots in corners of Samsung 40" 7020 LED TV

by artemiogl - 7/4/09 1:12 PM

I bought a 40" Samsung 40" 7020 LED TV (the model number is UE40B7020WW, it's a European series 7 40" set), and was extremely happy with it till a couple of days ago, when I started noticing faint but noticeable dark spots in each of the four corners. To be more precise, the spots are actually dark gray, not too big (about 2 or 3 cm in diameter), and faint enough that cannot be seen unless the background is uniform and light colored (light grey, light blue) or red. They aren't too noticeable, but once you know where they are you can see them against a light background. Also, they are more noticeable at a distance than up close, and in fact you can barely see them at all (even against a uniform, light background) if you are close to the screen and looking straight at the corner. I would like to know if this is a problem inherent to the LED backlighting system, or just a flaw of my particular TV. I bought it almost a month ago (at El Corte Ingls, a large department store in Madrid, Spain), so I could probably get it exchanged or repaired at no cost (I hope happy. Has anybody else had this problem? (I would particularly look forward to responses from other fellow Spaniards, to check out if they got their sets exchanged or fixed without problems from the seller).

Cheers,

Artemio
