Samsung forum: Samsung LN-T4661FX/XAA no picture but sound..

For some magical reason my TV started working again and has not had a problem for 2 months now. I am always concerned there will be some big sporting event or movie I have rented and TV won't turn on. I have not seeked a repair estimate simple because to open up the TV would cost more than it is worth. Mine is 2.5 years old and so obsolete it just makes no sense. For this problem to occur after how much I spent on this unit is short of criminal.

I have been of this belief for some time now. Last I wrote it had been 4 months of uninterupted use. Last month the first good rain of the year and bam...no TV. It has been a very rainy year in San Diego and now the family knows the routine. Turn TV on and mute sound. Turn on the heater and wait 45 min to One hour. Works everytime. Big pain in the Ass but my 52" TV isn't on the junk pile yet.

Hello, I have the exact same problem that everybody here has. TV screen is black, good sound. If you turn it off and back on you get picture for a split second. I paid alot of money for this TV and now I have to replace it after 2 years. I had my old TV for many years and it still works as it always did. I am going to have to replace it and I will NOT ever buy Samsung again. EVER. I would be happy to join a class action suit. And in reading this forum it is very apparent that the Samsung rep on here is working hard to cover up the issue and point fingers at everything but the TV itself. Come on Samsung!

I am trying to repair a lnt4661fx for a coworker. It would have clicking sounds and power off, progressively getting worse till it wouldn't even power on. I replaced 7 caps on the power board. 5 were bulging and 1 of those 5 was leaking. Now I have the same problem everyone else here has; powers up, beeps a tune, screen turns gray(on with no picture) and shuts down after @ 15 seconds. I have read every post on this thread and something smells rotten from Samsung and Samsung Tech is just running with his tail between his legs. He's giving standard robotic answers and is worthless. I'm going to look over all the PC boards for bulging caps. I read on a different site that Samsung used 10v caps when they should have used a minimum of 12v, like most of them are. I used 35v for the 7 I replaced already. I am looking to buy around a 55" TV after the holidays and it won't be a Samsung!!.

I'm having a similar problem to those posted on this thread. About 4 years ago, I bought a


Samsung LN32A330 32". Like many others on this thread, the picture suddenly went black and the sound remained. This conveniently happened 2 months outside of my warranty period. I have since had the TV simply sitting in my bedroom idle. I was about to throw it away today, but then decided I would check these various forums - much like I did when this first happened 2 years ago - to see if there was common solution to the problem that hadn't been realized back then. It appears there is not one, but a number of solutions for what seems to be three or four very common problems with these sets.
Here's my specific problem: when I power the TV on the screen flashes as if it is going to work for a split second and then disappears, leaving the screen black. The red light found in the power button blinks a few times and then goes out as well. The entire time the sound remains functional.

I pulled the back of the TV off today after reading about the various issues to see if I could observe any of the problems I've read about. Being a laymen, the only thing I can confirm is that there are no blown capacitors. I've read that I may need a new T-Conn board or a new inverter...

Anyone have an idea?
