TV tries but won't come on now

Have a Samsung HL-S6187W DLP. Took out the bp96-01472a lamp & housing to get the correct number, ordered it, then put it back in to view before the part arrives. Tried turning the TV on but just before it fully comes on, it just turns off.

Could be a lamp issue, or something more. Without looking at it, it's very difficult to determine.

Got it to work. Didn't realize that both of the plastic cases had to be on before it starts.

That's true - there is a switch that prevents the television from turning on without the housing on it.
